Xuku stood on the cliff, gazing out to sea. The water was stained red, as was the sky. The sun, now very reddish in color, was setting on the horizon. There was a slight wind, which caused gentle ripples to glide across the water. Several pink clouds were all there was to be seen in the westward sky, but to the east the sky was black with dark rain clouds. It would not be long before it was pouring down rain.
Xuku thought about why he was here. He had come to this island in hopes of finding a clue as to where his race was. Nothing was to be found on this island; just like all the other islands Xuku had searched. But he wouldn't give up. They had to be out there somewhere. He would find them someday. Eventually, he would be reunited with his father and mother, as well as the rest of his race, the Zoras, who had disappeared from Hyrule so long ago. Despite the belief that all Zoras evolved into Rito, Xuku knew that there were still Zoras out there. And he would find them.
The sun finally disappeared, slipping over the edge of the horizon. The wind had picked up a bit, and rain lightly began to fall. Flashes of lightning could be seen to the east, the low rumbles of thunder following closely behind. Xuku would need to find shelter soon. There was a cave on the island, one which would keep him both safe and dry. But being dry was never a concern for a Zora. Xuku did what most would not consider doing in the event of a storm; he dove off the cliff, into the dark water below, and began swimming to his next destination, which was currently unknown, to continue his quest for knowledge of his mysterious race.
