Dentor saw the bird dove down and began to attack the pirate ship.
"Hmm that bird sure doesn't like pirates."
Den then thought that that bird was a rito that Roto told him about. He was now thirdy feet away from the ship. He was behind them, he could tell that they were to busy to notice him. He picked up his bow and three arrows. He stretched the bow and away the arrows flew, killing three pirates.
Den got another set of three arrows and loaded it on the bow. Exaiming the ship from left to right, he saw the the rito was being overwhelmed the the pirates. He knew the rito could just fly like he did many times but its never bad to lend a helping hand. He let go and the arrow soared off hitting their targets.
"There that should be easier for you." he said of course the rito could't hear it because he said quietly.
He grabbed another arrow and stopped. He saw the Captain of the ship barking orders to his men. He stretched his bow again and fired. The arrow was going smoothly about to hit its target when the Captain to turn his back and saw it coming. Dodging the arrow, it scratched him in his right arm.
"Darn just missed him." Den quickly reloaded "Next time he's mine."

Link and the islanders had an opening to regroup as the enemy gained reinforcements. Several of them dragged the wounded to the bunkers to be treated. Link was surprised and relieved to see that so far the casualties were few, and most were just injuries. The islanders had sustained almost no deaths, mostly due to the fact that they had heroes such as Link and Orca to defend them, as well as attract most of the pirates' attention.
But the short break in the fighting was over; the pirates gave a battle cry and began the attack once more. As Link turned to retaliate he saw a Rito on board the pirate ship. But this Rito was not an enemy; he was fighting the pirates. Link was very happy to see that they had an ally on the ship. He also noticed a man in a boat attacking pirates from afar with his bow; Link was also thankful for him. Outset Island would take all the help it could get.
The pirates were upon the defenders. The battle resumed once more. Link heard a strange sound behind him. During the pause a few islanders had run back to the village, and now Link discovered why. A Powder Keg was now rolling down the hill towards the pirates, several others waiting at the top. Link gave a shout to fall back. The pirates were too busy trying to attack the defenders while they had their backs turned, and did not pay attention to the barrel rolling towards them. Once it was in the center of the mob, Link unleashed a Fire Arrow which struck the keg and caused a deafening roar as smoke, sand, and pirates flew into the air. Many pirates fell, but the rest swarmed the defenders, and another keg could not be used while the combat was hand-to-hand. Link drew his sword and entered the fray. The islanders were slowing reducing the numbers of the enemy, but were gradually sustaining losses of their own.

Augen paused as he heard a familiar voice call out to it's allies to fall back. Augen turned and saw where this voice was coming from. '... Well if it isn't a familiar face,' Augen thought, looking at the green tunic warrior. 'Well... What kind of karma would I be showing if I ran away?'
Augen made a turn, and as the barrel exploded with an arrow of flame Augen ran into the fray, taking a stance and jumping into the air, bringing his weapon down onto a pirate's head. "Kya," Augen yelled as he landed, holding his weapon back and preparing to do a spin.

Vanyr ducked a pirate's cutlass as he slashed horizontally at his legs, disabling him. Suddenly three pirates fell to the ground, arrows piercing their bodies. Vanyr quickly glanced in the direction they had come from, and saw a human in a small boat with his bow drawn. He quickly looked back at the pirate in front of him, who was in mid slash by the time Vanyr realized it. He jumped straight up, flapping his wings once, to put him above the crowd. On his way up he felt a sharp pain in his left leg, and it soon felt damp. He glanced down and saw that the slash had barely hit his leg, creating a small wound. He dropped to the ground, rolling to absorb the shock. Then he spun once in a circle, swinging his katana around with him, taking down several foes.
He had thinned out the cannon crew enough so that the bombardment of the island was almost at a stop, and he hoped to finish off the rest of the gunners. The pirates loading into longboats were too busy to assist; besides, they assumed that the current combatants would be able to handle a 'mere' Rito boy. Vanyr decided that it was time to use magic; he greatly preferred blade to blade, but that was not going to defeat this many foes. On Dragon Roost Mountain he had been taught fire magic; he concentrated, and his swords burst into flame as he felt a minor loss of energy. This frightened many pirates, and they backed away for a few seconds.
Vanyr took this opening as an opportunity to immobilize the ship, About time to finish this, he thought. He shot into the air and went straight for the sails. He slashed the main sail cloth open as he shot through it, and the sail as well as nearby rigging burst into flame. He circled around and grabbed onto the mast, above the pirates' reach, and began to stab it with his flaming katana. After a short amount of time the main mast had a small flame burning on it, and it was growing rapidly. With the ship slowly being consumed by flames, the pirates yelled and rushed into longboats.
He spread his arms, leaped for the sky, and began soaring above the ship, watching the chaos. Most of the upper deck was on fire now, and many longboats had been launched. Some pirates simply dove overboard and began swimming; most of the crew began rowing or swimming to Outset, hoping to regroup with the current attack force. As they did so Vanyr began his hit and runs on the longboats, slashing at the wood with his fireswords. He noted that the pirate captain had launched a longboat with some of his best men and started to row away from the island; typical. Vanyr would leave him to the human in the boat who had aided him before.

Link deflected a horizontal slice from a pirate and returned a diagonal slash to the pirate, who fell backwards grimacing from the pain. The islanders were being swarmed by pirates, but Link had a plan to separate the pirates and defenders so that another powder keg could be used. Using quite a bit of his magical energy, Link shot several pirates with Light Arrows. Seeing the other pirates shrivel into beams of light caused the remaining pirates to cower away in fear; exactly what Link wanted to happen. Another powder keg was launched and Link detonated it the same as last time, sending most of the remaining pirates skyward and the rest to retreat to the shore.
Link looked out at see, and was surprised by what he saw. The pirate ship was in flames, the captain was escaping in a boat, and the rest of the pirates coming towards Outset. Link began using Fire and Ice arrows to burn the ships and freeze any swimmers. The Rito was also reducing the enemy numbers greatly with his flaming blades, and Link was very grateful for his help, as he was for the man in the boat's. But some of the pirates made it to the shore, and the defenders had one final battle to fight. Link put his bow away, drew the Master Sword, and charged forward to meet the oncoming attackers.

OCC: Dentor is Hylian but they do look human from far away. its cool.
bic: Dentor saw the pirate ship in flames, he grinned. Den then noticed the Captain was trying to escape with about a dozen of his men. He loaded his arrows and fired. He kept firing until only the Captain was left. Den's boat sailed toward the Captain's. Den's boat was exactly in front of his. He loaded another arrow on his bow and aimed it at the Captain.
"You're done Captain. Your ship burning down in flames, your men are dead or surrendering."
Dentor tighten his grip ready to let go the arrow into the pirate's heart but didn't.
"I have a better idea." Den dragged the pirate into his boat and tied him up. When the fight is over he will take the Captain to the island for the locals to deal with him.

The fight was coming to a close. Augen stood silently for a moment, watching as most of the pirates were either dead, wounded, or retreating. Then he laughed quietly to himself. "Kyeheheheh... See what happens when you mess with the innocent! Instant karma's gonna get you! Gonna knock you right on the head," he called out, hoping that whatever pirates could still hear would hear his voice.

Link and the islanders were easily able to finish off the remaining pirates. Most of them had either froze or burned in the sea, and what little were left were no match for the islanders, who had Link and Orca on their side. After a few moments of fighting many pirates began to surrender.
After all had been either slain or taken captive, the inhabitants of Outset all met at the beach and greeted loved ones whom they were very happy to see survived. They were lucky that they while they had sustained many casualties, not many of them were deaths. The villagers praised Link and Orca, and other courageous islanders, for their show of bravery in the battle.
Link hoped that the Rito and the man would come ashore so that he could give them his thanks, because without their help the battle would have lasted much longer He also hoped to speak with the two other strangers he had seen during the battle. After a few minutes of talk the islanders dispersed and began to rebuild and repair the damage sustained to the island. Link sat on the beach, looking out to sea, and for now was just happy that Outset Island had survived this terrible day.

Vanyr had kept diving and attacking the pirate ships until most of them were on fire. Then he noticed that Link was now helping him, and thier opponents were falling much faster. It was not very long before most pirates had been killed or captured. Vanyr flew towards the shore, angling down towards it from his height in the sky.
As he approached he saw islanders beginning to reunite with those who had fled to the hill for safety. He landed, and glanced around. He saw Link a little ways off, and decided to go talk to him. He began walking in that direction, and as he neared Link he said, "Quite a battle for just being pirates. I'm just glad its finally over."

Link saw the Rito land a a little ways away. As the Rito got closer, Link made him out to be his friend, Vanyr. Link stood up as Vanyr got closer. Vanyr said, "Quite a battle for just being pirates. I'm just glad its finally over."
"Yeah," said Link, "we're lucky that we had you as well as another out at sea, otherwise the battle could have lasted much longer, and I'm not sure how we would have taken down the ship. Thanks for your help."

Vanyr observed the Islanders as they began to pick up any debris that the pirates had managed to hit with their canons. Link thanked him for his help, and he turned back. "No problem. I was in the neighborhood and had nothing better to do," he said, laughing a little. He wondered where the Hylian in the boat who had helped him had gone. Also, he had seen another boy who had been aiding greatly in the ground battle.
"Well, I'll stick around for a little bit, but then I'm off to the sky again," he said. He hoped he would have a chance to speak to those who had helped just to thank them for their help.

Link laughed at Vanyr's response. He had always liked people who could be humorous even in serious situations. "Well, thanks again. I noticed that we had help from someone in a boat. I would like to thank him if he stops by, and I also noticed a couple other strangers whom I would like to meet and thank."

Dentor landed on shore and tossed the Captain of the pirates of his boat, dragging him towards the locals. Den dropped the pirate in their feet as they thanked Dentor for his help. He didn't say anything and headed back to his boat. Den didn't like to be praised, it leads to a prideful heart as Roto warned him. He prepared his little sail boat to leave again.

Link saw Dentor come ashore and bring the pirate captain to the islanders to be dealt with. Link wondered which was worse; death or the punishment the captain would soon receive. But before Link could think about this too much he noticed that Dentor was heading back for the beach. Link got up and ran after him. He reached Dentor as he was getting in his boat.
"Hey! I am very grateful for your help today, and I just wanted to thank you for it. Without you and Vanyr (he's the Rito who was out here), I'm not sure how we would have won. By the way, I'm Link, what's your name?"

Dentor turned his head to Link. "Dentor." He didn't want to stay to long, he was grateful to help but didn't want make bonds with anyone. He remembered when Roto told him stories of his fallen comrades, and guilt of losing them in battle. He didn't want the same thing for him.
His boat caught the wind and began to slowly move away from the island. He and Link stared at each other. Den nodded to him "If I'm needed again I'll come."
