It was a hot day, few clouds, and very humid. The Pirate Ship was buzzing with activity above and below deck. Some were preparing the canons, cleaning and arming. Others sharpened their cutlasses, axes, hatchets, and arrows. The excitement was caused by their recently announced target; Outset Island. Many of the inhabitants were very peaceful, and robbing this small village should prove quite easy indeed.
The one-eyed and peg-legged Captain stood on deck, barking orders at his crew. At his side he carried a old and worn cutlass, although that did not hinder his ability to kill with it at all. His crew were battle hardened and experienced; overkill for this island. However, these old folk were sure to have 'ancient family heirlooms' or other items of value. They would be within site of the island in an hour or two of smooth sailing.

The wind was in their favor, and they were making pleasing progress. The Captain paced back and forth, running the battle plans through over and over in his head. It was quite simple; bombard with canon fire while the boarding crew neared the island. From there, it would be quite easy enough to secure any valuables the locals might posses.
"LAND HO!" There came the awaited shout; once again the crew flew across the deck as they took their stations. A large mass on the horizon, Outset Island was clearly visible. It would be a short matter of minutes before they were in cannon range; half an hour at most. The inhabitants would not know what hit them.

Link was sitting atop the mountain watching seagulls when suddenly a dark object appeared on the horizon. Slowly it grew larger and larger until Link could make it out to be a ship. But this was not just any ship; it was bearing a pirate flag. Link knew that it would not be long before they were within canon firing range. Link rushed down the mountain and began running throughout Outset alerting everyone of the imminent threat.
The villagers of Outset gathered what weapons they had. The able-bodied men gathered tables and other objects and began to fortify the beach, while the women and children retreated to the mountaintop.
Link was confident that they would succeed in repelling the pirates. After all, he had fought much fiercer foes. He even had the aid of Orca, a very capable old man, who had taught Link how to wield his first sword. Orca would be a very valuable ally in the battle to come.
Finally the defenses were ready. Link looked around. One main bunker, the one Link had helped build, had been established about a hundred yards from the shore. Farther back on the hill they prepared defenses for those skilled in archery to take cover and pick off pirates from a distance. Another bunker was built at the base of the mountain, ensuring that no stray pirates found their way to the women and children. The bunkers were heavily fortified, and should be able to withstand canon fire. Now all the islanders could do was wait.

Augen rubbed his eyes as he slowly came to. He knew it was about the right time to wake up... However, he wasn't quite well-rested. Then again, it isn't easy to sleep inside of a barrel otherwise full of gunpowder... But after a few days, he had gotten a little used to it. Waiting in a barrel by day, sneaking out and scavenging by night, always trying his hardest not to be seen by the night shift... It was dreadful. Still, thus was the way of a hitch-hiker. Life was full of unwanted results. Augen could deal with it...
... So he thought. He didn't know the ship was heading towards a raid. He didn't know that the situation was going to get a lot more perilous than it was now. He thought he could just wait until they docked again, and then he'd be able to leave this barrel and find some odd-jobs. But as he sat, waiting concealed in a barrel of darkness, he was clueless that fate had something else in store for him.

The time had come. The Pirates were 100 yards away from cannon range, and form there they would move closer and begin unloading. The fortified bunkers that the villages had constructed greatly surprised the captain, and he begin to wonder if this would be more of a siege than a quick raid.
The large boom could be heard for a mile or two; black masses flew through the air. A few landed short, one long, but ultimately they had missed. As the crew reloaded, they adjusted their aim based off of those shots. They would soon begin pelting the bunkers.
The first longboat of about 20 pirates was being unloaded, and many more were to follow. At first he would just send two boats; he had many pirates on board, and he would test their strength. While the canons bombarded the beach, these two longboats slowly rowed, getting closer and closer to the beach. Once they were quite close the couple archers in them began pelting the bunkers, hoping to hit someone by chance. In just a few moments they would be on the beach.

Canon fire rained down around the bunker where Link and the other defenders took shelter. Luckily these pirates weren't that great of shots with a canon. After some bombardment the pirates deployed two boats full of twenty pirates each. There were several archers in each of these, and they began to open fire on the bunkers. Chances were slim that they could hit anyone, but nevertheless the islanders avoided the windows, however narrow they were. Once the pirates got close enough the island archers began to fire upon the boats, taking down several pirates before they reacted and held wooden shields above their heads. At least the enemy archers could not fire while these shields were up.
The boats were getting close. To reduce the numbers a little, Link fired and Ice Arrow into the water directly in front of one of the boats. This caused the water in front as well as partway down the sides to freeze, stopping the boat in place. He then fired a Fire Arrow into the center of the pirates, catching their shields on fire. The island archers open fire again on this boat now that the pirates' shields were down.

The captain watched intently. The island's inhabitants were putting up a greater fight than he had anticipated. He was still determined to prevail; after all, he was a great pirate captain! He barked at his crew to load another boat and send it off, as well as to actually hit something with the cannons.
The pirate longboats were approaching the shore, shields above their heads, when all of a sudden the rightmost boat froze in place, much to the surprise of the passengers. A few seconds later their shields burst into flame, and all of the pirates on board bailed as quickly as they could. They began to swim to shore and, although much slower, were much harder to hit.
The other boat continued towards the beach, being very close now. A few leaped out of the boat and dragged it onto the shore; the pirates began swariming towards the first bunker, although their progress was slowed when the archers began to rain down more and more arrows on them. They once again raised their shields and began marching towards the first bunker.

Link was happy to see that his effort to slow the pirates worked. It would take some time for them to swim to shore. However, another boat had already been launched to replace the one which was lost. Link would worry about that one when the time came, however, as the first boat of pirates had just landed.
Repelling a small force such as this would not be hard. After all, Link had defeated Ganon and his minions, a small band of pirates would pose no real threat. However, a large ship full of pirates would. Holding out against a siege might prove to be difficult with an untrained militia. But, it was all they had, and they would have to work with it. Link grabbed his weapons: the Master Sword, the Mirror Shield, bow and arrows, boomerang, and hookshot were among a few of them. He also had a crystal which, when fed with magical energy, would create an unbreakable barrier around Link. He would only use this in an emergency, since he could not maintain it for very long.
Link along with a few other of the defenders, including the sword-master Orca, rushed out to meet this new attack force. Link stayed back and fired several arrows at the pirates, taking down a few. He then flourished his sword as he ran down towards them. The first pirate he ran up to underestimated him due to his size and attack with a straight vertical slice, leaving himself completely open. Link sidestepped, and slashed the pirate across the chest. The pirate stumbled backwards and dropped his sword, but was not dead yet. He pulled out a dagger from his belt and lunged at Link. Link, surprised, didn't have time to react with his sword but his shield was already in front of him, and he used this to bash the pirate to the side, and delivered a deep slash to the pirate's side. This time the pirate fell, and did not get back up.
He looked over to see how Orca was handling himself. Orca had two pirate bodies already at his feet, and had just finished running his spear all the way through another. Link was amazed by Orca's strength as well as his skill with a sword, especially for a man at his age. The islanders were also fairing pretty well; already half of the pirates had fallen. Link noticed that the swimming pirates were getting somewhat close to shore now, and realized that the villagers could not handle that many pirates at once. He decided to use a bit more magic and fire another Ice Arrow. They were swimming very close together, and the arrow froze them all solid, instantly killing them. This would at least buy them some time to finish the first wave before another arrived. Link turned around and charged back into the battle.

Fire... Augen smelled fire, Augen heard fire, and Augen heard a pirate yell "My shield's on FIRE!!!" Augen was sitting in gunpowder. From his point of view, fire was not a good thing right now. And yet all around his little hiding spot were bloodthirsty pirates... Time for this hitch-hiker to bail.
And so, on the deck of the pirate ship, one of the barrels suddenly burst open with a cloud of black powder, and Augen used this cloud as a concealment before diving off of the ship into the water. Wet, sticky, and in the middle of a battle, Augen tried hard to hold his breath as he made his way to the shore... 'Cuz he knew that no matter what was going on there, it'd be a whole lot safer than sitting in gun-powder, surrounded by bloodthirsty pirates while fire was being thrown around.

kraven hunter was at the top of the beach. he hated the disgusting pirate scum. Had they all come at once Kraven would have gladly charged in like a madman but he had to conserve his strength he wanted the captain. as he saw link shooting the diffrent elemental arrows. he had an idea. he got out his bow of Aura and set about firing at the long boats. Not only were the Arrows able to fly far further than normal arrows. they were coated inflames and exploded on contact with anything after being launched from kravens bow.
He Noticed the second wave starting to melt and said "Screw this" and drew his Red queen. a 2 handed blade that was as long as its user. it had an abnormally long hilt incase he had to switch from 1 handed style to 2 handed style. he walked briskly towards the pirates. he didnt care about the villagers or there annoyning people. but what he did care about was pirates. when he got down to the shore. the battle was getting worse for the villagers as the second wave just arrived...
Kraven launched himself at the pirates swinging his sword two handed and cleaving a pirate in half and then slashed downwards cutting a man in half an Insane grin upon his lips. he continued hacking at the pirates. he wondered how many he could kill before they ran away screaming.

The pirate attack force currently on the beach was far too small. With the other inhabitants of the frozen longboat now frozen in the water themselves, the pirates would have to wait on the third longboat. Speaking of which, it had just been brought onto the shore and fresh attackers sprang out and charged the line of the islanders, hoping to aid their failing comrades.
The new assault force begin using a bit more strategy; they would attack three or four at a time at Link and Orca, making it very difficult to fend them off. This new warrior who had slain several of their men was rushed by many pirates, and although several of them would surely die there was no way he would avoid them all. The cannon fire continued on the Bunker, which the pirates had finally adjusted to and were hitting successfully.
The captain ordered two more boats to be loaded, and the idle crew shuffled about as they did so. This was a longer battle than he had anticipated or desired. He hoped to end it quickly once their cannon fire begin penetrating their bunkers.
*Following is with Vanyr*
Vanyr was a happy boy; he was soaring through the sky on a beautiful day, and the view was incredible. As far as he could sea blue ocean, blue sky, and white clouds were plentiful. The wind was blowing, and he was making good progress. He had just come from a visit to the Earth Temple, which one of his race were the sage of.
After his visit he had decided to stop by outset, as he had not been there for some time. He changed his course, flipping and diving in the air to relocate his destination. He begin zipping towards the island with the wind behind him.
As he approached Outset Island, he was troubled; there was a ship out at sea, but not going any closer. As he neared the island even more, he saw canon fire and a battle taking place. Pirates, he sighed. He begin speeding towards the island, hoping to be there within a few minutes.

Link and the islanders had just about finished off the first wave when Link noticed the second wave landing. Link had been watching one man in particular, a stranger, as he rushed the pirates. Link was thankful for his help against the pirates, but he was not sure whether he was necessarily on the islander's side.
Link couldn't worry about him now however. Three or four pirates were rushing towards him. Link threw his boomerang to stun the closest one, who was several steps ahead of the others, then dealing a slice across the torso. The other pirates were not far behind.
Link drew his sword and stepped back as the pirates made their first swings. One pirate attacked from his side, his sword on a path for Link's shoulder. Link dove to the ground to and rolled around the pirate's legs, coming up with a jump and a slice to the back on his way up, and another slice on his way down. He had not dodge entirely however; he sustained a minor injury to his leg when he dove. But, that had taken care of two out of four pirates.
Link noticed several other pirates rushing him. He decided it was time to use a little more magic. He held his sword behind him for a few seconds as it began to glow with magical energy. He then released the energy, and spun around, sword out, in the direction of the oncoming pirates. The pirates attempted to dodge but they did not have time; the two original attackers as well as others fell before the mighty technique Orca had taught Link. Link was dizzy for a few moments, but soon recovered. Many of the pirates had already fallen, but more pirates were on their way, and the canon fire had become more accurate. Link wondered how much the islanders, as well as the bunkers, could take.

The wind all of a sudden shifted from the north to the southwest.
"Hmm seems I'm heading this way now"
As Dentor sailed for several of hours, Dentor seemed to enjoys the beautiful day. Then he heard some faint sounds but could't make it out. He saw a island in front of him. As he got closer, he could tell that the sound came from cannons. It was a pirate ship attcking the island.
"Am I suppose to be here?"
Dentor looked up and saw a bird flying up in the sky heading to the island as well.

Augen crawled out of the water onto the sandy shore, hoping that there might be a safe zone somewhere on this island. But wherever it was, it wasn't here. This became even more obvious when Augen felt the tip of a pistol at the back of his head. "Oy! I 'int see you on the ship! 'Yees a stowaway, an'cha?"
Augen didn't have time to answer. He rolled in a semicircle around the pirate, focused in and did a jump attack with the metal club. The pirate fell to the ground. That worked nicely... But the outcome might not. So Augen darted, trying to make his way inland and out of the battle.

The fourth and fifth boatload of Pirates began to unload. As the rushed towards the battle, they regrouped with those who had come on the third boat. They began to team up on the adversaries which had proved to be more of a threat than the average villager. With cutlasses in hands, they charged, yelling and shouting.
Meanwhile, Vanyr had approached the Island. He quickly observed that the ground battle was by no means going in the pirate's favor, and he was also very surprised to see Link in his recognizable green tunic. With him down there, the pirates would have a tough time. It appeared as though several other islanders were proving themselves as well. Vanyr decided that the ground was not the threat; no, it was the ship bombarding the structure that he supposed the Islanders had built in defense.
He altered his course yet again, although this one was a minor change. He dove down towards the pirate ship, arms at his side. He then drew his katana and spread his arms wide, gliding towards the ship at a very fast rate. He neared the ship, and lifted his feet and placed them in front of him; he was the hawk, them the pray. He picked up a pirate, lifted him away from the ship, and then pivoted in air, slinging the pirate around and turning back towards the ship. He launched the pirate into the midst of his comrades, causing great confusion and disruption as the cannon crews attempted to figure out what had happened.
Vanyr wasted no time. He was already diving again, although this time he went below their line of site. All of a sudden, he burst straight up, and the pirates began to yell as they saw him. He dropped from his height right onto the deck, and flourished his katana. While they outnumbered him greatly, he was able to escape straight into the sky if need be. They rushed him, and he began rolling, hovering, and slashing as he began cutting down on the number of pirates on deck.
